Yahoo!'s new Ad Campaign

Yahoo! recently stated that they will launch a new ad campaign. Could it be that they aren't competing at a high rate anymore? The campaign will be included on TV, radio, print, movies, online and also a free Dunkin' Donuts coffee giveaway plus. Its a multi-million dollar campaign The debut day is set for Thursday, September 21 and the coffee giveaway will only be for Yahoo! visitors on the 22nd. Marketing executives say that the new campaign will focus on Yahoo!'s new image/new home page, beta mail and Yahoo! Answers. The ads will be humorous with a cool hteme: How will life be without Yahoo!'s services. Its a desperate move. I think thats its risky yet smart. You never see Google or MSN with an ad campaign worth millions of dollars. But will it work? Leave a comment.. will Yahoo! gain more users with a new ad campaign?

Yahoo! Makes a Touchdown

Yes, its September...Yes, its fall... and YES, its college football season! Yahoo! takes full advantage of the moment. The company wants to elaborate on the "football fever." What the heck does that mean? Basically, Yahoo! plays it smart by promoting their fantasy football portal (Football '06). Their goal is to create a personalized web experience in which they can connect with their users. Fantasy Football is becoming a craze with growing buzz, but its not yer considered a trend... give it some time to grow. The game stats, the team picking... are all in this virtually surreal world, but the prize draws in sports fans from all over the world (up to $25,000 reportedly). Yahoo! generates its profits by placing ads (similar to Superbowl commercials>humor) on the Fantasy Football portal, yet users become distracted and are fed up with all the banner ads. I think that it will eventually become extremely popular if not taken too far. This is a great way for Yahoo! to differ from competition like Microsoft (MSN) and Google by creating a community, making them more consumer friendly. If you ever tried fantasy football, leave a comment. Will it expand and become the new sporting trend with everyone grabbing a piece of the market?

Boo Hoo Yahoo!

Yahoo! sees its biggest one day drop. MY TIP: TIME TO BUY WHEN IN DOUBT. Yahoo!'s shares fall to 52week low today, lagging behing Google in ad revenue. Even MySpace beats Yahoo! as the most visited site on the web. Since the internet ad giant postponed its pivitol change to their ad structure, investors were disapointed therefore causing a major downfall in stock.
