Inside NetFlix: WATCH NOW

The largest online DVD rental service, NetFlix has been the talk of the street with news about the company's price changes and website improvements. Blockbuster was once the destination for movie rentals until 1998 which marked the birth of NetFlix. The company offers flat rate rental-by-mail to customers across the United States. NetFlix has a collection of 80,000 titles and over 7 million subscribers. The company offers a myriad of services to its customers. Subscribers pay a monthly flat fee to rent DVD movies. The process is simple; create an ordered list (rental queue) of DVDs you want to rent and then your selected movies are delivered separately by mail to your chosen destination. Recently, NetFlix introduced a new service entitled "Watch Now" which is only offered to subscribers at no additional cost. Watch Now allows subscribers to view movies (near DVD quality) and TV shows instantly online. Major studios such as NBC Universal, Paramount Pictures, Warner Brothers, New Line Cinema, Sony Pictures, Lion's Gate, 20th Century Fox, and MGM all distribute films and TV shows under the new service provided by NetFlix. I think NetFlix is on the right move. DVDs and CDs are becoming a thing of past and people are now moving towards downloading. NetFlix had patience and waited for the right time (NOW) and developed an online service for subscribers. Earlier this year, NetFlix stated that they have delivered their billionth DVD.
