MySpace for Dogs

Dogster.com is the social networking site for pets (they also own catser.com) Recently this site has been recieving lots of attention and funding as well. News Corp, for example, dished out millions for MySpace just one year ago and the street did not approve. Dogster, on the other hand, has recieved $1 Million. The investors have some experience: Jim Young, founder of HotorNot and del.icio.us founder, Joshua Schacter, who later sold it to Yahoo! Dogster.com is currently supported by Google AdSense, where it generates profit. They have been extremely profitable as opposed to Pets.com, who suffered one of the worst 90's dot com deals ever. I think the concept is clever, but will it last for long? Probably not. But, hey its just my opinion, lots of people, like celebrities are purchasing Louis Vuitton pouches for their pets. This could possibly be the new trend. Do you think that Dogster has a potential future where it could possibly generate as much buzz as MySpace? Leave a comment.

  1. MY SPACE FOR WHAT?
Well here we are with another clever move by the guys at MYSPACE. This website has lured millions of subscibers in a relatively short period of time and is only growing. I am anxious to see what's next.
