Can Howard Stern SERIOUSLY Save SIRIUS?

Its been eight months since Howard Stern, the contraversial radio jockey, has joined Sirius Satellite Radio, and Wall Street questions...just what has he done to help the satellite radio company (Sirius)? Many say that newer Sirius subscribers would not have signed up if it were not for the infamus Howard Stern, who holds a $500 million yearly contract with the company. Word on the street is that due to poor performance from Sirius and competitor XM Radio, they might have no other choice but to merge (SeriousXM...sounds nice or should I say, sounds serious). Since both of them are creating little profit and rather building debt from launching satellites; a merger could possibly delete the debt and make room for expansion or a "serious" re-shaping of a new company. I think Sirius should drop the subscription fee program, and do an AOL move, rely on advertisers. Even though this will ruin the whole concept ... I think Sirius will benefit by offering star stations for free and instead of tackling a share of the market they could then get hold of the mass market (by also merging with XM). These days it takes much more than a popular jockey to save Sirius. What should Sirius do? Would a merger benefit them? And could Howard Stern save Siruis? Be Serious... Leave a COMMENT, this is a hot topic, and I promise updates on Sirius' performance!
