Amazon Unboxed: EXCLUSIVE Movie Download Launch

Yesterday, Amazon.com launched its digital video downloading service, ending all of the street blabber. Its official now: Amazon.com will now enter the online TV and movie industry. Its cleverly titled, "Amazon Unbox" and it will offer endless television shows, movies and other videos from more than 30 studios and networks, according to Amazon.com officials. TV shows will sell for $1.99 per episode and most movies will be sold for $7.99 to $14.99 (rent for $3.99). Major film studios and television networkds like Paramount, Sony, Warner Bros, CBC, Fox, MTV and more are offering their shows on the Unbox Platform. Disney Pictures refuses to participate, being that Apple's Steve Jobs is a major shareholder and they would rather not take that risk. Some new releases can also be found on Amazon.com's Unbox. For example, V for Vendetta, Brokeback Mountain and Inside Man are currently listed and being sold. Unbox will allow customers to convert downloads to Windows Media and also purchase from one PC and download/view from another, which is awesome. Movies will often take an hour or more to download (even with high speed), but Amazon plans to allow users to view movies before the download is complete (through saved files). These movie and video downloads can be transfered to DVDs only for storage, and can be played on the PC but not on a DVD player. I think its a great move and I've been waiting for this to happen. The only thing is that there are so many limitations and transfering the videos and movies to your TV should be thought of quick. It seems that Apple originally started this trend by offering TV show downloads and selling more than 300 million videos. What does this mean for both Amazon and Apple as a competition, who will win? Leave a comment. Its EXCLUSIVE, blab on>
