"Yeahhhhhh Boyyyyyye!" Flavor Flav, ounce the member of the hip-hop group of the 80's: Public Enemy. Growing up in Long Island, NY, Flavor Flav (William Drayton) always had a mind set of the future. After starting a family, he followed his heart to Hollywood where his career exploded and became even hotter than a Dell Laptop Battery (a little humor there). He was immediately casted on "The Surreal Life", a somewhatstable show with average ratings on VH1. It was then when Flav found love with Surreal Life roomate and star of Rockie, Bridgett Nelson. Following the season finale, VH1 got it's first taste of success. The Surreal Life somehow managed to lure in viewers to this one particular season due to the strange characters of Flavor Flav and Bridget Nelson who made a perfect match. Producers of VH1 signed Flav for another season...this time another SHOW. "Strange Love" later became a hit with some pretty high numbers. The show followed Flav and Bridgett throughout their "strange" love life. The hit show came to an end and producers again tugged Flav back into the studios for yet another show titled "Flavor of Love". The show premiered on VH1, and displayed Flav's search for a solemate, similar to The Bachelor on ABC... but with a popular urban twist. Flavor of Love quickly became a record hit, ranking in millions of viewers (the biggest show VH1 has ever seen). Popular characters such as Miss New York, Hoopz and Goldie shared the fame with Flav. Flav chose Hoopz, but the relationship quickly ended. VH1 now dragged Flav back into the studios for another search... with 20 new girls with a mission to win Flav. "Flavor of Love 2" became a bigger hit... the most viewed reality TV show on cable (its season 2 premiere). Critics say that season 2 is wilder than the first. Oprah also watched the show and was disgusted at the girls fighting over someone like "Flav" (funny). Season 1's remarkable moment was a catfight between two contestants, Pumpkin, who spit on NY, who then pushed her into the cameras (causing pain to Pumpkin...who then cried). Season2, in way to it's 3rd episode has already aired another catfight on the first night, which was over a bed. Flavor of Love is the most viewed reality TV show inside African American households... and Flav is profiting. The show has bought him a mansion in the Hollywood Hills. Flava flav used to be a crack head who would hang out on 161st in the bronx near yankee stadium, after his public enemy days. I have seen him with my own eyes riding bikes or hopping in to cabs(this was about 10 to 13 years ago. For him to make the transition back to stardom with a few hit television shows is a major accomplishment. You have many interesting articles and topics on this web site. keep up the good work.
