Released June 28th, the iPhone created a 'street frenzy'. Steve Jobs announced that all full-time employees and part-time employees that have been with the company for at least one year will receive a free iPhone. The free iPhones will be given to employees some time this month because demand has decreased. Apple stores were closed for 4 hours the night before to prepare for the launch. During this preperation, devoted customers lined up at stores to be the first to receive an iPhone. Although customers were anxious to receive an iPhone, there were concerns regarding service plans provided by AT&T. The iPhone is made available for those who subscribe to a 2 year AT&T service plan

. It has also been reported that users were either unable to activate their phones or were delayed for hours due to what AT&T states was a "high volume of activation requests." I think the iPhone is way over-priced and most American's will not purchase it simply because we can't afford it. Eventually, over time it may be a success but will it ever be famous like the iPod? Not in my opinion. I like the iPhone... its amazing and the features are clever but I just don't think it will be popular like other Apple products (that were affordable). First day sales of the iPhone totaled at $500,000 (which is pretty good). What do you think of the iPhone.... leave a comment BLAB ON!
