Target Sued Over Stolen Designs

Target, the nations second largest retailer, has been accused by Williams Sonoma, an upscale home furnishing retailer of stolen designs. Some include christmas stockings, candles and more. This is not the first lawsuit of stolen designs against Target. Many other upscale designers have stepped up because this is hurting their overall bottom line. Everyone knows that Target and many other discount retailers love the idea of selling quality merchandise with a "luxury" feel for less money. The consumer benefits from having grand furniture in their homes that was much cheaper than Williams Sonoma. Martha Stewart, for example sells nice items for less. Could this just be another scheme to attack Target because they find it hard to compete with the larger and less expensive Target and WalMart? I think so. Williams Sonoma (WSM) suggests that Target hind behind its vendors. The upscale furniture designer also specified percisely what each product looks like to the courts. Wow, this seems desperate! Target should just take this as a breeze and Williams Sonoma should just move on... there are many other ways to gain market share over competition. Maybe copyrights on the fluffy fabrics on holiday stockings would help. For now... i'll keep you posted. I haven't discussed Target in a while... so this is a start. Blab On!
