Coke Blaks out Starbucks with their New Line of Latte Style Drinks
Yesterday evening, Coca-Cola announced that they will create a new line of latte drinks, in an attempt to compete with Starbucks. The new product launch will be sold in restaurants and other food distributers like supermarkets (similar to Starbuck's lattes and the new "double shot"). This is following the earlier release of Coca-Cola's Blak, a "carbonated coffee-infused soft drink." I personally never tasted the Blak (leave a comment if you did, I would like to know how how it measures up). I think Coca-Cola can succeed if they have the correct taste, which means lots of market research like taste tests among average consumers. This is a growing trend, don't you think, competition in IN this summer. From McDonald's launching the McCafe to battle Starbucks, Dell competes with the Apple store, Microsoft's Zune to the iPod, Yahoo! and Google, and now Coke Blak (and the new line) vs Starbucks' line of lattes. Will Coca-Cola succeed to just loose badly to the already trusted Starbucks? Will people realize that its now un-cool to walk around with a $4 cup of Jo (coffee)? Please, blab on... I find this story interesting so I need some comments on this in particular thanks, and HAPPY LABOR DAY WEEKEND!!!
