Home Depot Rebuilds

Following the one year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, America just now realizes that we must rebuild. Home Depot and competitor, Lowe's, are lending their helping hands to the damaged Gulf Coast residents. Both companies are offering "Katrina Cottage Kits", which are small affordable homes that cost $45 to $55 per square foot to build. The Home Depot Foundation is donating $60,000 to $80,000 to aid Gulf Coast residents. The company is also trying to rebuild their own image, following an embarassing (excuse my spelling) annual meeting, that was filled with boycotts, upset shareholders and Bob Nardalli's (CEO) refusal to answer simple questions regarding a change in sales reports. Company directors must now gain a majority vote to enter or preserve their current position. Home Depot will also continue its College Football sponsorship on ESPN (displaying their logo ontop of a major anchor desk and surroundings). Home Depot has yet to improve its poor customer service and management. (see my article Home Depot Fiasco for more). Where do you think Home Depot is heading? Do you think its a smart move to build their image? Leave a comment.

  1. This is a great blog!

Home Depot or Lowes should really use all this government-aided disaster to their advantage. Can't you see the Gulf coast lined with Home Depot brand shanties? Lowes should put an empty Lowes van near every rebuilding project just to make it look like they're involved in some way.

And, about the spelling, I really wish Blogger had a spellcheck feature.
