Welcome To The Human Network

MySpace, YouTube, AOL, and even Blogger are all online social networking sites that are powered by this one company that allows us to connect with one another. The company behind it all is Cisco Systems. Located in San Jose, California, Cisco develops communication technology and services. Their products can be found anywhere; online, telephones, e-mail services, video sharing, and any other way you connect the world using technology. Cisco's mission is to "change the way we live, work, play and learn." The company was founded in 1984 by a married couple employed at Stanford University's computer operations department. In 1990, Cisco went public and quickly expanded. The company took advantage of the dot-com boom of teh late 90's and created partnerships with many companies. Cisco developed solutions for remote access, ATM networking, security, branch office routers and more. I never knew what Cisco had to offer until now. I question why they don't have enough exposure if they basically "control" network. The 'in-thing' now is networking and everyone wants exposure. Cisco deserves recognition... and StreetBlabber is here to spread the news. After all, we are powered by both Blogger/Google and Cisco Systems... if it were not for these companies, my thoughts would be hidden. Apparently, the company has realized that they are not recognized by the public so they launched a campaign entitled "welcome to the human network". FYI- The name Cisco derived from the city San Francisco. The Cisco Systems logo originated from the Golden Gate Bridge.
