Aquafina Is Tap Water!

Earlier today, Aquafina's parent company, Pepsi, has announced that the bottled water brand is in fact tap water! The company mentioned that bottle labels will be changed to inform customers that the product is tap water. The labels will state that Aquafina originated from a PWS ('Public Water Source'). Pepsi released this statement to the public: "if it helps clarify the fact that the water originates from public sources, then its a reasonalbe thing to do". Pepsi is not alone; in 2004, Coca-Cola admitted that it's bottled water, Dasani, is tap water. Keep in mind that Dasani's labels display that the water is filtered through "state-of-the-art purification systems" but they do not mention that it is tap water. I am shocked! I actually favor Aquafina over any other brand because it was 'pure' and had a refreshing taste in my opinion. I would have never guessed that it was tap water. I am proud of Pepsi for stepping up, although customers may purchase less Aquafina. I hope that people realize that this move is another step towards saving our environment. Tap water is recycled water and Aquafina has their own filtration system on top of that. Pepsi is smart because they rather admit than have the media find out on its own...therefore ruining the brand (StreetBlabber would have a very good article against Pepsi if that were the case). This raises the question: Do we actually know the difference between tap and 'fresh' water?
