Intel takes back Chip Crown!

It looks like the old "Pentium" name is going away after a long 10 years. Intel's CEO, Paul Otellini introduced the "Intel Core 2 Duo." This new microchip should help Intel regain its crown from its smaller rival, AMD, which has beat Intel badly with much faster chips. After AMD announced that they would buy video chipmaker, ATI, for $5.4 Billion, the assault was on! Intel is possibly releasing the Core 2 Duo in an attempt to challenge AMD's speed advantage. What ever happened to Intel's Montecito which was a brand new introduction to the company... I covered that story way back when the blog started (first entry Intel's New Chip). This will be exciting to watch.
